Make crispy, tangy Buffalo shrimp quickly in your air fryer. This recipe uses a light coating to achieve crunch without deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. This step is key for crispiness.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Lightly dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (199°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated shrimp in a single layer in the basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the shrimp halfway through the cooking time, until the coating is golden brown and the shrimp is cooked through.
  7. While the shrimp cooks, whisk together the Buffalo sauce and melted butter in a small bowl.
  8. Transfer the hot, crispy shrimp to a clean bowl. Pour the Buffalo sauce mixture over the shrimp and toss gently until fully coated.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the floured shrimp with cooking spray before placing them in the air fryer.
  • Use large shrimp for the best texture results.
  • Serve with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
