Make tender, crispy Cajun-seasoned shrimp skewers quickly in your air fryer, finished with a bright lemon-garlic butter drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning blend
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 wooden or metal skewers (if using wood, soak for 30 minutes)
  • For Drizzle: 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted; 1 clove garlic, minced; 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the dried shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
  3. Thread 3 to 4 seasoned shrimp onto each skewer. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket later.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the skewers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overlapping.
  6. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and slightly crispy on the edges.
  7. While the shrimp cooks, prepare the drizzle: Mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl.
  8. Remove the cooked skewers from the air fryer and immediately brush them lightly with the lemon-garlic butter mixture.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray just before the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Cajun seasoning by half.
  • Ensure your shrimp are not touching each other in the basket for even air circulation and crisping.
