Make crispy, flavorful garlic butter shrimp quickly in your air fryer. This recipe provides simple steps for perfectly cooked, tender shrimp coated in a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. This helps achieve crispiness.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the dry shrimp with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Toss the seasoned shrimp with about half of the garlic butter mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
  6. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time, until the shrimp are pink and slightly curled.
  8. Remove the shrimp from the air fryer. Immediately toss them with the remaining garlic butter mixture.
  9. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly dust the shrimp with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch before tossing with the first half of the butter mixture.
  • If your shrimp are very large, you may need to add 1-2 minutes to the cooking time.
  • Pair this shrimp with rice pilaf or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
  • If you prefer less heat, omit the red pepper flakes entirely.
