Ingredients
Scale
1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
Place the halved Brussels sprouts in a bowl. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Place the seasoned sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
Air fry for 10 minutes. Shake the basket well. Continue air frying for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender inside and crispy outside.
While the sprouts cook, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the Gochujang, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil until smooth.
Once the sprouts are crispy, transfer them to a clean bowl. Pour the prepared Gochujang glaze over the hot sprouts. Toss quickly to coat them completely.
Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly dust the sprouts with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch before tossing with oil.
Adjust the amount of Gochujang based on your preference for heat.
If you do not have rice vinegar, use an equal amount of apple cider vinegar.
