Make perfectly crispy halloumi fries in your air fryer without deep frying. This recipe includes a simple coating and a bright dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces halloumi cheese, patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil spray
  • For the Dip:
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cut the halloumi block lengthwise into thick sticks, about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Lightly dredge each halloumi stick in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
  5. Arrange the coated halloumi sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; work in batches if necessary.
  6. Spray the tops of the halloumi sticks lightly with the olive oil spray.
  7. Air fry at 380°F (195°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. While the halloumi cooks, prepare the dip: Mix the Greek yogurt, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, and garlic powder in a small bowl.
  9. Serve the hot halloumi fries immediately with the lemon-herb yogurt dip.

Notes

  • Patting the halloumi very dry before coating helps achieve maximum crispiness.
  • For best results and to prevent sticking, spray the basket and the cheese itself with oil.
  • If your air fryer tends to run hot, check the fries at the 7-minute mark.
