Ingredients
Scale
1 lb lean ground beef
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
1/2 cup dill pickle slices, chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped white onion
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
For the Special Sauce: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it browns. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the cooked beef. Cook for 1 minute more. Set aside.
Prepare the special sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, pickle relish, mustard, white vinegar, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder until smooth.
Assemble the salad: Place the shredded iceberg lettuce in a large bowl. Top with the seasoned ground beef.
Sprinkle the chopped pickles, chopped white onion, and shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
Drizzle the homemade special sauce generously over the salad. Toss gently before serving.
Notes
For a lower-carb relish, look for sugar-free options or finely chop fresh dill pickles instead.
You can substitute ground turkey or ground sirloin for the lean ground beef.
Prepare the special sauce up to two days ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
