Enjoy a warm and comforting Caramel Apple Bread Pudding, a perfect fall dessert that’s easy to make and incredibly delicious. This recipe is designed for you to treat yourself like royalty, even on a weeknight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups cubed day-old bread (brioche or challah recommended)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the bread cubes in the baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are moistened. Let it soak for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Gently scatter the diced apples over the bread pudding.
  6. Drizzle about half of the caramel sauce over the apples and bread mixture.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown on top.
  8. Let the bread pudding cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Using day-old bread gives the pudding a better texture.
  • Challah or brioche bread will yield a richer, more decadent pudding.
  • Feel free to add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
