Make this rich, satisfying ground beef pasta in one pot for an easy weeknight dinner that tastes like comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 12 ounces dried pasta (like penne or rotini)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Season the beef with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Stir in the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and add the dry pasta to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pot, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom. The liquid should mostly be absorbed and the pasta tender.
  6. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and butter until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a high protein creamy ground beef dish, use lean ground beef.
  • If you want a richer sauce, add 1/4 cup of cream cheese along with the heavy cream.
  • This recipe is great for busy weeknights since it is a quick 30 minute meal.
