Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
12 small corn or flour tortillas
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon water
Pinch of salt
Instructions
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, and salt.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the lime juice and fresh cilantro with the cooked shrimp.
Prepare the crema: Combine the avocado, Greek yogurt, water, and a pinch of salt in a food processor or blender. Process until smooth. Add more water, one teaspoon at a time, if you need a thinner consistency.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions.
Assemble the tacos: Place a portion of shrimp onto each warm tortilla. Top with a drizzle of the avocado crema. Serve immediately.
Notes
For spicier shrimp tacos, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper with the other spices.
You can substitute sour cream for Greek yogurt in the crema if desired.
Warm tortillas directly on a dry skillet for best flavor.
