Make this simple, non-alcoholic cooler using fresh watermelon and lime juice for a perfect drink to cool down.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slices for garnish
  • Mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed watermelon, lime juice, water, and sugar or honey into a blender.
  2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth.
  3. Taste the mixture. Add more sweetener if the watermelon is not very sweet, or a splash more lime juice if you prefer more tartness.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any pulp. Press down on the solids to extract all the liquid.
  5. Chill the juice mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to get it very cold.
  6. To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the chilled watermelon lime mixture over the ice.
  7. Garnish each glass with a lime slice and a mint sprig.

Notes

  • For a fizzy drink, substitute the 1/4 cup of water with club soda or sparkling water when mixing, or top each serving with soda water.
  • If you want a slushie texture, freeze about 2 cups of the strained watermelon juice mixture in a shallow pan until solid, then blend it with the remaining liquid ingredients.
  • Use ripe, sweet watermelon for the best natural flavor.
