Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for topping
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
Pour the cream sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the baking dish.
Sprinkle a little extra Parmesan cheese over the top of the sauce.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly and lightly browned.
Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
To keep the sauce creamy, do not let it boil rapidly on the stovetop before pouring it over the chicken.
If the sauce seems too thick after baking, stir in a tablespoon of extra chicken broth or heavy cream.
For extra flavor, you can sear the chicken breasts briefly in the olive oil before placing them in the baking dish.
