Make this rich, multi-layered Mississippi Mud Pie featuring a crisp Oreo crust, creamy chocolate filling, and a light whipped topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups Oreo cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Combine the Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Chill the crust for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Pour the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the pudding layer.
  5. Top the pie with the remaining half of the whipped topping.
  6. Chill the pie for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, use dark chocolate instant pudding mix.
  • You can toast the mini marshmallows briefly with a kitchen torch before serving for added color and flavor.
  • If you do not have Oreo crumbs, you can substitute with graham cracker crumbs, but adjust the butter slightly if needed.
