Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup rolled oats (not instant)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for extra creaminess/protein)
1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and salt in a mason jar or container with a tight-fitting lid.
Pour in the milk, then add the Greek yogurt (if using), sweetener, and vanilla extract.
Stir all ingredients together thoroughly until everything is well combined and no dry clumps remain at the bottom.
Seal the jar tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight.
In the morning, check the consistency. If it is too thick, stir in a splash more milk until you reach your preferred texture.
Add your desired toppings and eat cold.
Notes
For a high-protein version, use protein powder or increase the Greek yogurt quantity.
If you prefer a thinner texture, increase the milk by 1 to 2 tablespoons before refrigerating.
Store prepared overnight oats in the refrigerator for up to 4 days for easy meal prep.
To make this dairy-free, use almond, soy, or oat milk and skip the Greek yogurt.
