Ingredients
Scale
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
2 medium apples, such as Honeycrisp or Gala, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tablespoon coarse sugar, for sprinkling
2 tablespoons caramel sauce, for drizzling
1 tablespoon flaky sea salt, for finishing
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto the prepared baking sheet.
Arrange the spiced apple slices in the center of the pastry, leaving a 2-inch border.
Fold the pastry border up and over the edges of the apples, pleating as you go to create a rustic crust.
Brush the folded pastry border with the melted butter and sprinkle with the coarse sugar.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the apples are tender.
Let the galette cool slightly on the baking sheet.
Drizzle the warm galette with caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cardamom to the apple mixture.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
If you don’t have coarse sugar, granulated sugar works as well, though the texture will be different.
