Ingredients
Scale
2 cups cold brew coffee concentrate
1 cup water (for dilution, optional)
Ice cubes
For the Strawberry Puree: 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
For the Strawberry Cream Topping: 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tablespoons strawberry puree
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
Instructions
Prepare the Strawberry Puree: Combine strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens slightly (about 8 minutes). Mash any remaining chunks. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother topping.
Prepare the Cold Brew: If using concentrate, mix it with water to your preferred strength. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
Assemble the Base: Pour the cold brew coffee over the ice, filling the glass about two-thirds full.
Make the Strawberry Cream Topping: In a medium bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, milk, 2 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry puree, and powdered sugar.
Whip the Cream: Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat the mixture until soft peaks form. Do not over-whip. Taste and add more powdered sugar or puree if needed for sweetness and color.
Layer the Drink: Gently spoon the strawberry cream topping over the cold brew. Allow it to slowly cascade down the side of the glass for a layered effect.
Serve immediately.
Notes
For a quicker puree, you can blend the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice until smooth and skip the cooking step.
If you do not have cold brew concentrate, use 1 cup of strongly brewed chilled coffee instead.
For a non-dairy option, substitute the heavy cream with chilled full-fat coconut cream and use oat milk or almond milk.
The leftover strawberry puree can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
