Make a rich and smooth white hot chocolate from scratch using only three simple ingredients. This recipe delivers a comforting, velvety warm beverage quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 4 ounces good quality White Chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat the milk until small bubbles form around the edges, but do not let it boil.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the chopped white chocolate to the warm milk.
  3. Let the chocolate sit in the hot milk for one minute to soften.
  4. Whisk the mixture gently until the white chocolate is completely melted and the drink is smooth and uniform.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with heavy cream.
  • Use white chocolate chips or baking bars; avoid using white chocolate flavored candy melts for the best texture.
  • Top your drink with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  • To make an adult version, add one ounce of white rum or vanilla vodka after removing the mixture from the heat.
