Make these easy, no-bake peanut butter protein balls for a quick, healthy snack or post-workout fuel. They require minimal ingredients and no oven time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (natural, creamy)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons water or milk (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats, protein powder, and ground flaxseed in a medium bowl. Mix well to distribute the dry ingredients evenly.
  2. Add the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture.
  3. Mix everything together using a sturdy spoon or your hands until a thick, uniform dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add water or milk one tablespoon at a time until it holds together.
  4. Roll the dough into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Place the finished protein balls on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate version, add 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and use chocolate protein powder.
  • You can substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter for peanut butter.
  • Store the finished protein balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For mix-ins, add 1/4 cup of mini chocolate chips or shredded coconut before rolling.
